Munich, 30 June 2020: NATO continues its activity of High Readiness Patrol in the Black Sea, with the Romanian Navy providing the flagship for Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2.
Rohde & Schwarz has recently modernised communications on the Romanian Navy’s minelayer, Vice Admiral Constantin Balescu 274, by providing modern R&S M3SR software defined radios (R&S Series4100 HF and R&S Series4400 VHF/UHF) and a message handling system.
“We are very proud to have our equipment integrated into this major naval asset for Romania. The customer is very satisfied with the RF performance and reliability of our systems,” states Hansjörg Herrbold, Vice President Market Segment Navy Rohde & Schwarz. “In less than four months, we provided the Romanian Navy with a tailored system. The advanced technology of the communications systems installed on board the Romanian ship facilitates communications within the task group and with Allied Maritime Command. Rohde & Schwarz has provided more than 40 navies with state-of-the-art communications technology. We make sure that we deliver a safe, future-ready investment for today’s navies on time and on budget.”
Earlier this year, production in the Rohde & Schwarz Memmingen manufacturing plant achieved a major milestone: the delivery more than 10,000 R&S M3SR radios.
