The Locke Sandals are Craghoppers’ answer to warm weather footwear for all types of applications, writes Mike Gormley.

When the sun is out and the weather is good it is time for sandals to give your hard-worked feet an airing and hopefully some sun.
I was looking for some light, and easy to take with, sandals and came up with these Locke Sandals from Craghoppers. Some nice features in these ~ good to wear and light but also robust with grippy rubber soles so good support and traction when one gets more adventurous. A bit unique is that the bar type treads have been designed to interlock ~ perhaps a clue in the name here ~ so will stow in less space.
These sandals have now done two good trips with me and have had some very varied uses. This as well as wear around home and local UK use now the sun is finally with us. They began life with me exploring the hot streets of Buenos Aires and went on to being my deck shoes on our adventures in Patagonia. More recently it was off to the Aegean island of Kos for some hot weather exploring and they were really all I wore for that trip.
The foot contact area of these sandals is a soft touch EVA so comfortable and shaped to be supportive. If you look at the spec this is part made from ground coffee beans. Sadly I haven’t noticed a nice odour of Cappuccino. A bonus from Craghoppers is on these you get two sets of straps in different colours. Mine are black and blue. So you can be fashion conscious if you like and colour match to other items of your apparel, but also you can keep a dry set for when wearing after being on the beach, or replace them if damaged. They are simple to swap and secured with both press studs and hook and loop. The straps are also treated with Craghoppers NosiLife to help protect against biting insects and are made from 100% recycled materials.
I have worn these sandals loads this year and they are still going strong.
