This post is just a quick heads-up that we now have a pair of the new brown LOWA BREACHER GTX MID combat boots on test, writes Bob Morrison.

The replacement for the popular and long-serving LOWA Mountain Boot GTX model, the LOWA BREACHER GTX MID is part of a completely new modular system of mission boots from the 100 year old Bavarian-based bootmakers.
This particular version, which I reckon should fall into the Boots Combat High Liability category, uses a combination of smooth full grain leather and Cordura uppers mated to a dual-density polyurethane midsole atop a new Vibram Vanguard outsole, with a GORE-TEX Professional Performance Comfort breathable membrane laminate lining providing comfort and waterproofing.
Once I have had a chance to wear these boots over a variety of terrain and under differing conditions I will get back with my opinion and with more detailed specifications, but so far my initial impressions are very favourable.
