Claimed by organisers to be the largest dedicated conference of its type, this year’s annual IAV is bringing together almost nine hundred delegates from across defence, industry and academia. For four consecutive days two parallel conference streams, interspersed with panel discussions, as well as a specialist exhibition hall showcasing some of the latest developments in the armoured vehicles sector, are vying for the attention of both uniformed and suited visitors from around the globe.

The situation in Ukraine is certainly focussing minds at present and although Monday is traditionally a quiet day for IAV, as delegates arrive from around both the UK and the globe, from 08:00 this morning the venue was packed in what is definitely the busiest event that I have attended over the last few years. The programme lined up for this week is both varied and interesting so I, for one, am looking forward to what looks like being several very long but fascinating days of fact-finding.
