France and Netherlands Government Defence Consultations

France and the Netherlands held government consultations for the first time today ~ the countries will work more closely in the field of defence.

Press Release, The Hague, 16 March 2022: France and the Netherlands held government consultations for the first time today. In Paris, Prime Minister Rutte and five ministers from the Dutch cabinet, including Minister of Defence Kajsa Ollongren, held talks with their French counterparts.

Ukraine, the situation in the Sahel, the EU’s Strategic Compass and the importance of EU-NATO cooperation were among the important subjects of discussion. The delegations substantiated their intention to undertake closer cooperation in a number of concrete objectives. In future, the two countries will also work more closely together in the field of defence than is now the case.
