CSTO Forces In Kazakhstan Updates ~ as of 14 January

Updates on the redeployment of the CSTO collective peacekeeping forces helping stabilise and normalise the situation in Kazakhstan.

Press Release, Moscow, 05:00, 14 January 2022: Units from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO of the republics of Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan, performing tasks for the protection of socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, began loading equipment and personnel into aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the Zhetygen and Almaty airfields to return home.

Ten aircraft with peacekeepers of the CSTO of the Republic of Belarus, having completed the loading, took off from the Zhetygen airfield to the Minsk region. The peacekeeping contingents of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Tajikistan will be delivered to the points of permanent deployment by aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Unit of peacekeepers of the Kyrgyz Republic will march to the point of permanent deployment on standard vehicles on their own.

Press Release, Moscow, 07:00, 14 January 2022: CSTO collective peacekeeping forces contingents are returning to their permanent deployment points. The command of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, together with the Kazakh side, developed a plan for the return of peacekeepers to their countries.

The first units of Russian paratroopers of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, who performed the tasks of protecting socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, having flown four Il-76MD military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces from the Almaty airfield to the Ivanovo-Severny airfield, returned to the point of permanent deployment .

Today having completed the loading of equipment and personnel, the peacekeeping contingents from Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan on military transport aircraft Il-76 of the Russian Aerospace Forces will return to their homeland. Unit of peacekeepers of the Kyrgyz Republic will march to the point of permanent deployment on standard vehicles on their own.

Tomorrow the return of the Russian contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces to their bases will continue. The return of the peacekeepers to the points of permanent deployment is planned to be completed by January 19 of this year.

The command of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, together with the Kazakh side, developed a plan for the return of peacekeepers to their countries. For the return home of peacekeeping units from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan, Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are involved. Unit of peacekeepers of the Kyrgyz Republic will march to the point of permanent deployment on standard vehicles on their own.

Press Release, Moscow, 08:45, 14 January 2022: The personnel and equipment of the unit of the Republic of Tajikistan from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, who performed tasks for the protection of socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, having completed loading into the aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the Almaty airfield, are returning home.

The command of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, together with the Kazakh side, developed a plan for the return of peacekeepers to their countries. Military transport aircraft Il-76 of the Russian Aerospace Forces are involved in returning home units from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan. A unit of peacekeepers of the Kyrgyz Republic will march to the point of permanent deployment on regular equipment on its own.

Press Release, Moscow, 09:00, 14 January 2022: In Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz unit of the CSTO has started a march on regular equipment to the point of permanent deployment. Kyrgyz peacekeepers are the only military personnel from the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the CSTO in Kazakhstan who return home on their own on regular equipment.

CSTO peacekeeping contingents from Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan flew to their countries by military transport aircraft (MTA) VKS of Russia from the airfields of Zhetygen and Almaty. Ten planes with Belarusian peacekeepers went to the Minsk region. The servicemen from Armenia and Tajikistan also flew to the permanent deployment points by the MTA aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Press Release, Moscow, 16:20, 14 January 2022: A unit of the armed forces of the Kyrgyz Republic from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, which performed tasks for the protection of socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived at the points of permanent deployment, marching on regular equipment.

Earlier, ten Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered personnel and equipment of the peacekeeping contingent of the Republic of Belarus home.

Press Release, Moscow, 16:30, 14 January 2022: Units of the armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, who performed tasks to protect socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived at permanent deployment points.

The IL-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered the personnel and equipment of the peacekeeping contingent of the Republic of Tajikistan home. Earlier, ten Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered personnel and equipment of the peacekeeping contingent of the Republic of Belarus home.

Press Release, Moscow, 17:00, 14 January 2022: Units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, who performed tasks to protect socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived at the airfield in the Minsk region.

Ten Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered personnel and equipment of the peacekeeping contingent of the Republic of Belarus home.

Press Release, Moscow, 18:00, 14 January 2022: The units of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia from the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, which performed tasks for the protection of socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived at the points of permanent deployment.

The personnel and equipment of the Armenian peacekeeping contingent were delivered home by three Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Earlier, 11 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered units of peacekeepers of the republics of Belarus and Tajikistan to their locations. Kyrgyz servicemen from the CSTO peacekeeping contingent arrived home after making a march on regular equipment.

For reference: In accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council adopted on January 6, 2022, collective peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization were sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited period of time to stabilise and normalise the situation. They included units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. From the Russian Federation, subdivisions and military units of the Airborne Troops entered the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces.
