Craghoppers Microfleece Corey Plus Jacket

On the Devon Coast Path the Craghoppers Corey Plus Jacket makes a comfortable top layer capable of keep out the chill breeze [©JG]

The Craghoppers microfleece Corey Plus Jacket is a top or mid layer which should help to keep out the autumn chill, writes Mike Gormley.

As the days get a bit chill we all need a nice comfortable mid or top layer that will keep the breeze at bay and offer some inner warmth. I had a similar garment from Craghoppers many years ago and it is still in use, but the Corey Plus now takes over when I need to look a bit smarter.

I like this Picotee Blue version ~ Black Pepper Marl is also available ~ as I have to say it brightens up the day a bit. As well as keeping you warm in body it should also give you that ‘warm fuzzy feeling’ of doing your bit as this garment is made to a great extent from about 40 recycled plastic bottles; yes, I do wonder if they held milk or fizzy drinks. Which ever it was this garment, which uses polyester in the main, with combination of polyamide and elastane for the trim, works well at its new task ~ a lot better than being committed to hundreds of years in landfill .

The Corey Plus model offers a very usable full front zip, easy to use at any time, and has good sized side pockets as well as a very useful zipped chest pocket nicely sized to take a mobile phone. As well as being produced in two colours, it is also available in five Men’s sizes, from S through to XXL.

When it needs a wash that is easy, and it dries off remarkably quickly so has minimum down time, which is great when you are way from normal home facilities. The Corey Plus teams very well as a mid layer with the Craghoppers Anderson Cagoule which I recently reviewed in this section.
