On 14th June 2018 Jankel announced that its FOX LRPV was being procured as an Urgent Operational Requirement for French Special Forces, writes Bob Morrison.

Earlier this week at the SOFINS Special Operations conference and expo, held at Camp de Souge near Bordeaux, we grabbed the opportunity to photograph the Jankel FOX being used by French Army Special Forces during the daily dynamic demonstrations and also took some walk-round photos of a third (apparently recently delivered) vehicle in the outdoor static display area for our vehicle enthusiast readers. No specification sheets were available at the expo, but as FOX by Masstech is now an in-service COM FST platform we did not expect to pick up technical information. What we can say, however, is that the three-man VPS 2 (Véhicule de Patrouille Spéciale 2) has a payload of 1700kg, maximum road speed of 170km/hr (105mph) and an M134 Dillon 7.62mm minigun can be fitted in place of the 40mm grenade launcher or 12.7mm M2 HMG seen in these photos.
