Russian Federation News Release: [auto-translated] Servicemen of the Voronezh garrison repelled an attack on the headquarters of the Guards Mixed Aviation Division of the Leningrad Army Air Force and Air Defence during a recent counter-terrorism exercise.

According to the exercise scenario, the servicemen received a signal to alert the command forces of the division, the Military Police unit and the garrison’s anti-terror groups in connection with the threat of a terrorist act.

The saboteurs blew up a checkpoint and broke into the grounds of the Division Headquarters, where they were met with fire by the division’s duty forces. An Anti-Terror Task Force arrived to reinforce the servicemen, who destroyed the enemy under the cover of a mobile firing point of the KamAZ-4320 armoured car. The detention of the ‘terrorists’ was carried out by officers of the Military Police in individual ‘Turtle’ protection kits, and the cordoning off the adjacent territory was carried out by officers of the Military Traffic Police.

In total, over 100 servicemen of the Voronezh garrison were involved in the anti-terrorist exercise.
