Press Release, Orlando, 17 December 2020: The DiSTI Corporation is the recent recipient of a delivery order from the US Army for High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) virtual trainers. As the world’s leading provider of virtual training solutions, DiSTI will provide Diagnostic Trainers (DT) for the HIMARS and MLRS programmes, along with the necessary classroom hardware, installation, test, cybersecurity certification, and logistics support.
“The MLRS and HIMARS are highly mobile, incredibly advanced, combat-proven precision strike systems,” said DiSTI CEO John Hayward. “The DiSTI Corporation understands how detailed the training on such complex systems must be for our warfighters and is honoured to develop these virtual solutions.”
The scope of this contract includes an update to the existing software and hardware for multiple classrooms and laboratories at Fort Lee, Virginia that support maintenance training for both the M142 HIMARS and M270A1 MLRS. This programme will provide the US Army with immersive, cost-effective training that improves student throughput, engagement, and learning outcomes.
This training system upgrade will leverage the latest DiSTI training system architecture, common core software elements, and development tools from the US Army’s Family of Maintenance Trainers (FMT). This approach will reduce development time and cost while providing hardware and software commonality across other Fort Lee Ordinance School training systems. The HIMARS/MLRS DT also integrates training features from the on-going CRAM II Operator/Maintainer Trainer (OMT) upgrade programme.
DiSTI’s virtual training solution will allow students to train in an advanced 3D learning environment to garner the skills necessary to support Fort Lee’s 94P’s Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) School House, with additional training for the 94T’s (Avenger/LPWS).
This award continues The DiSTI Corporation’s virtual training solution development for US Army programmes.
