Plasan Sasa and BIRD Aerosystems reveal SandCat with MSIS

Equipped with BIRD’s MSIS, the SandCat armoured vehicle can participate and lead Task Force Ground Missions while communicating in real time with the other Task Force segments, whether aircraft, helicopters, or ground sensors, allowing all operating teams to share a unified, real-time situational awareness overview and enhance the mission effectiveness.

 

Press Release: Plasan Sasa and BIRD Aerosystems have teamed up to offer a SandCat armoured vehicle equipped with BIRD’s advanced mission management system (MSIS). The two companies will display the special intervention vehicle for the first time at Eurosatory 2018 (Villepinte Expo Park, Paris, 11-15 June).

SandCat, Plasan’s family of 4×4 armoured vehicles, offers the flexibility and robustness needed for every defence and security mission. While providing high-end protection, SandCat maintains its manoeuvrability and agility, even when equipped with surveillance and communications systems. The SandCat family has been designed to support a wide range of challenges and missions including: law enforcement, Special Forces, homeland security, border patrol and armed conflicts. SandCats are also used to transport troops, as a command and control centres, and to transport VIPs though conflict zones. More than 600 SandCat’s are used on every type of mission, on all types of terrain around the globe.

BIRD’s advanced Multi-Sensor Integration System (MSIS) manages the complete mission profile and ensures that all operating teams share a unified, real-time situational awareness. The MSIS is an integral part of BIRD Aerosystems’ Airborne Surveillance, Intelligence and Observation (ASIO) solution. The system provides a complete Task Force solution which enables to collect and process large amounts of information gathered from the airborne platforms and that is automatically classified and efficiently displayed. The information is then shared in real–time with the ground segments of the Task-Force such as the C&C centre and ground intervention vehicles and enables all operating teams to share a unified situational awareness picture.

Equipped with BIRD’s MSIS, the SandCat armoured vehicle can receive real-time information and data from the airborne sensors, allowing commanders to more effectively oversee and manage the ground missions.
