The Norwegian Defense Material Agency (NDMA) has chosen Germany’s Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft mbH (FFG) as the supplier of a new generation of protected support vehicles.

Press Release: Besides the development and construction of the new Armoured Combat Support Vehicle (ACSV), the contract also includes the supply of drive and protection packages for the M577 Command Post Vehicles and vehicles of the M113 family actually remaining in use in Norway.

These modernisation solutions are based on the proven G4 power packs, a field where the company from Flensburg already has extensive experience concerning the development and integration of protection solutions for military vehicles. The won tender once again underlines the confidence of the Norwegian partner in the skills of the systems provider FFG, with which several orders have already been successfully realised. In order to involve the client’s industry in the project as an additional value, FFG also includes Norwegian companies in the project implementation.

FFG offers with the ACSV a versatile, track-driven vehicle platform, which is available either with a closed hull or as transport vehicle in an open version. A flexibly designed loading area and integrated container mounts make the vehicle ideal as a carrier for container-based mission set-up, e.g. for close-range air defence, radar applications or electronic warfare. The closed version has a large, efficiently protected and flexibly usable interior, which is ideally suited as a platform for team transporters, command vehicles or ambulance vehicles.

Technically, ACSV is based on the PMMC G5, which was also developed by FFG and has already proven its performance under the toughest conditions, including extensive tests in the desert and deep snow. PMMC G5 combines outstanding mobility with maximum protection for crew and equipment.

Interested visitors to Eurosatory 2018 are invited to visit both PMMC G5 and the innovative WiSENT 2 – exhibited in armoured engineering vehicle configuration – to get comprehensive information on all products and services of the vehicle manufacturers from Flensburg.
