Press Release, Haute-Marne, March 2023: Pangolin was created in January 2020 by four associates, and is a company specialised in the design and production of innovative ballistic protection for the combatant and for vehicles.

Inspired by the resistant, flexible and light armour system of the pangolin, we have developed innovative ballistic protection solutions combining lightness, flexibility and performance against the highest threats.

Pangolin’s engineers have developed fully flexible personal ballistic protection plates (multi-axial flexibility) that provide protection from assault rifle threats and armour-piercing rounds. The flexibility provides operators with maximum comfort as the plates adapt to all body shapes and movements, making them more agile and resilient in all situations.

The flexibility of the plates is also accompanied by a weight gain compared to many current solutions. Indeed, research is at the heart of all innovations, and Pangolin is particularly focused on reducing the weight of the fighter, without compromising on its protection.

These plates are built in a polymer assembly that makes them resistant to the multiple shocks that can weaken the ceramic. This technology has been rewarded during national competitions such as Defstart, or during international exhibitions such as SOFINS 2021 or MILIPOL 2021 and Eurosatory 2022.

With these skills, Pangolin has also received funding from the French Defense Innovation Agency for a research programme aimed at lightening the protection of armoured vehicles. This programme is spread over three years of research during which a protection 30 to 50% lighter than the current solutions will be developed.

Pangolin manufactures its products in its factory in Haute-Marne and markets its products in France and abroad, and meets all the needs in terms of ballistic protection, as well as tactical vests and covers for the Police/Security/Army markets. The company will display on the SOFTECH booth at SOFINS 2023.
