New Airborne Helmets For Indian Army

The Personal Protection side of India’s SM Group, SMPP, is to supply 21,062 Speciality Ballistic Helmets for Airborne Applications to the Indian Army.

Press Release, New Delhi, 14 May 2019: We are pleased to share the news of award of contract by Indian Army to SMPP for a specialised ballistic helmet for Airborne applications. SMPP will be supplying more than 20,000 such helmets. This will be in addition to the 50,000 Helmets already supplied and another 40,000 likely to be supplied by SMPP to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This new order comes after SMPP started with the first supply of 10,000 Nos. Ballistic Jackets as part of the Rs 640 Crores (approximately USD 100 Million) contract with the Indian Ministry of Defence for supply of over 186,138 Nos.
