Editor’s Footnote: Although the original ‘tiger stripe’ camo pattern design, itself a variation of a slightly earlier French ‘lizard’ pattern, is almost 70 years old its derivatives are still used around the globe. Indeed as recently as 2020 I photographed the pattern being worn by US Army Europe OpFor (Opposing Forces) troops on the Hohenfels Training Area; see Cherokee Company ~ US OpFor Tiger Stripe.
