Press Release, Paris, 19 March 2025: Within the framework of the FSAF-PAAMS Programme managed by OCCAR, the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the French Air Force SAMP/T NG 1st serial GF 300 MRI radar, developed and produced by Thales, has recently achieved its successful conclusion.

The FAT is the culmination of a long series of tests performed at the Thales Limours’ Site in France, aimed at guaranteeing the highest level of performance for the new multifunctional radar, allowing a high defence range and 360° coverage. The Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology allows to meet a high level of performance of detection, tracking and classification of numerous targets even in electronically difficult environments. It is designed to any air and missile threat, including multi threat scenarios including a mix of ABT – TBM threats, with high mobility and versatility.

The FAT was performed by Thales and Eurosam, with DGA experts, DGA GQA (Governmental Quality Assurance) and OCCAR. This is an important achievement which further demonstrates the preparedness of industrial production lines, for the sustainment of the highly complex new generation MRI manufacture phase, which will equip the French variant of the SAMP/T NG system. This first MRI is currently being integrated with the other modules into the 1st SAMP/T NG section to be delivered for the first trials by the French Air Force.
