Hanwha Aerospace signs teaming agreement with Generation 5 Holding for local production of K9 Self-propelled Howitzers for Middle East.

Press Release, Seoul, 19 June 2026: Hanwha Aerospace has signed a teaming agreement with Generation 5 Holding, a leading defence and technology company, to collaborate on the manufacture and sale of the K9 155mm self-propelled howitzer for the Middle East market.
The agreement was signed by IL Sung, head of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at Hanwha Aerospace, and Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director of Generation 5 Holding, at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition, held in Paris from 15 to 19 June. Under the agreement, Generation 5 Holding will support local production and market access for the K9.
The agreement is part of Hanwha Aerospace’s strategy to strengthen its position in the Middle East, where it is pursuing local production, maintenance and technology partnerships as a route to regional customers. In-country manufacture and lifecycle support are intended to build local industrial capability and to provide support closer to where the systems operate. The K9 is a 155mm/52-calibre self-propelled howitzer with a firing range of more than 40km. It is operated by ten countries across four continents.
