Press Release, Madrid, 06 April 2026: Indra will deploy a Lanza 3D radar at the Sattahip naval base in Thailand, the country’s main naval facility and the gateway to the Bay of Bangkok. With this contract, the company strengthens its position as a leader in the modernisation of Thailand’s surveillance systems.

The Lanza 3D radar will enable monitoring of all airspace and surrounding waters of this strategic site, providing high integrated detection capability and the ability to identify new threats such as small drones.

The system is complemented by several command and control stations, also supplied by Indra, which provide great operational flexibility and will facilitate task distribution and prioritisation in order to ensure effective protection of adjacent coastal areas and airspace.

The company won this major contract in competition with some of the leading international companies in the sector. The system incorporates AESA technology, the capability to detect targets with a low radar cross-section, and is specifically designed to operate in high-humidity environments, as it works in the L-band, which is particularly suitable and robust for such conditions. Indra’s ability to tailor the solution to the customer’s specific requirements was another key differentiating factor of the proposal.

This contract is the first secured by Indra with the Royal Thai Navy and adds to the long-range Lanza 3D radars awarded by the country’s Air Force. In this way, Indra consolidates its position as the company leading the renewal of Thailand’s surveillance systems, ahead of other industry players.

This position is the result of decades of work in the Asian region, where Indra has offices and operational centres in several countries, enabling it to earn the trust and recognition of key nations such as India, the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia, among others.
