Press Release, İzmir, 05 May 2026: Making its debut at SAHA Expo 2026, the PAMİR 4×4 – the new solution for demanding missions – stands out in the field with its superior mobility and operational versatility. Offering maximum efficiency in personnel and logistics cargo transport, the vehicle was designed by BMC in alignment with the Turkish Armed Forces’ field experience and the requirements of asymmetric warfare, ensuring secure, rapid, and effective mission execution.
Delivering uninterrupted performance in long-endurance operations with a top speed of 120 km/h and a range of up to 600 kilometres, the PAMİR 4×4 maximises mission flexibility with a total transport capacity of 10 personnel members – including 4 in the cab and the cargo area.
Designed to meet diverse mission requirements, the PAMİR 4×4 offers exceptional adaptability with flatbed or enclosed cargo body versions, enabling the transport of a wide range of payloads. This vehicle offers multi-purpose versatility with various configuration options, including Weapons Carrier, Patrol Vehicle, Command Post Vehicle, and Personnel Carrier, while supporting the integration of diverse weapon systems.
With superior climbing capability on steep slopes of up to 60%, the ability to perform ‘stop-and-go’ manoeuvres on the same incline, and safe driving performance on 30% side slopes, it delivers flawless mission execution even in the most challenging terrains. Its operational effectiveness is further bolstered by the ability to navigate 30% gradients while towing a trailer.
As the PAMİR 4×4 Cargo and Personnel Transport Vehicle prepares to demonstrate its effectiveness in the field, the qualification processes for the Land Forces are currently underway.
Editor’s Footnote: The Turkish Armed Forces have a massive fleet, originally in excess of 12,500 units, of ageing Otokar-built Land Rover Defender 110 variants which are becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. The PAMİR has been developed as a potential replacement and can be configured to meet all roles undertaken by the Defender. Although I first spotted PAMİR on Sunday during the build-up phase of SAHA 2026, the vehicle remained under wraps until the 15:00 unveiling on Tuesday, at which point it was quickly mobbed making walk-round photos impossible. I will try to revisit the stand at a quiet time over the next few days and if successful I’ll try to post a little more on this interesting 4×4.
