Press Release, Oshkosh WI, 15 January 2026: Oshkosh Defense LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation business, announced today that US Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) has placed a $53 million order for Common Bridge Transporters (CBTs) under the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicle (FHTV) V programme.

Built on Oshkosh’s proven heavy tactical truck architecture, the CBT allows units to keep combat formations advancing when terrain and threat conditions complicate mobility. The CBT, engineered to transport, launch, and retrieve bridge bays and bridge erection boats (BEBs), extends the Army’s mobility by delivering and positioning bridge assets that keep manoeuvre forces moving across wet gaps.

“Soldiers need mobility they can count on, especially when formations must stay supplied and moving during conflict,” said Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer for Oshkosh Defense. “The Common Bridge Transporter reflects the performance and reliability that define Oshkosh heavy tactical vehicles. We’re honoured to continue supporting the US Army with proven systems designed to perform in demanding, contested logistic environments.”

Current conflicts highlight the enduring need for reliable mobility, especially when units must operate under observation or threat. This order strengthens the Army’s ability to maintain freedom of movement in complex, high-risk environments.
