Press Release, Sofia, 05 June 2026: [auto-translated] The 17th International Exhibition for Defence Products and Services, HEMUS 2026, will end tomorrow, June 6, with the presentation of certificates to exhibitors. A demonstration of capabilities by military personnel from the Joint Special Operations Command will mark the last day of the Exhibition in a spectacular way.
HEMUS 2026 was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Economy, Investments and Industry, the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation and with the active participation of the Bulgarian Defence Industry Association. The main organiser is the HEMUS – 95 Foundation.
The involvement of the Bulgarian defence industry in the processes of rearmament and modernisation of the Bulgarian Army was a main emphasis placed during their participation in the Exhibition by the Minister of Defence Dimitar Stoyanov and Deputy Minister Katerina Gramatikova-Ivanova. The importance of scientific and expert capacity and its even closer connection with the Bulgarian defence industry was also emphasised.
A total of 258 companies from 28 countries showed novelties and trends over several days and had the opportunity to build new contacts and partnerships. The significant growth in interest in HEMUS 2026 from Bulgarian and foreign exhibitors for another year has consolidated its place as one of the most recognisable and authoritative forums in the field of defence and security in Southeast Europe.
