The biennial Defence Vehicle Dynamics expo returns to Millbrook Proving Ground today after a four year gap caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, reports Bob Morrison.

A little unusually for DVD, artillery is on show this time around as manufacturers turn their focus to the forthcoming UK Mobile Fires Platform requirement.
However the types of 4×4 we normally expect to see at the show are also there in abundance as the UK Forces GSUP (General Support Utility Platform) programme gathers speed. Brand new vehicles, such as the latest evolution of the familiar-looking, but very different,THEMIS Armour System 4×4 from Hobson Industries are also in attendance and I spotted not one but two of the Oshkosh JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) demonstrators when I visited the Off-Road Area Stands during Tuesday set-up. The next couple of days are likely to be a little busy, but I reckon I should come away from this interesting expo with a few stories to tell.
