Andrew Howell MBE, Managing Director of the family-run Welsh business, dropped us a line yesterday, to update us on recent defence sector staff expansion and production for Ukraine, in which our friend said: “I am pleased to advise BCB continue to be very busy; fully supporting our Ukrainian friends. We are working two shifts in both of our factories to keep up with demand. We now also employ four Ukrainians, who are great to work with even though there are considerable language barriers; an education all round, which can be quite entertaining if you are not part of the conversation!”

BCB International Ltd is the Defence & Marine side of BCB Ltd, the original medical company which traces its roots back to 1854, but the offspring is itself no youngster as it celebrated its 43rd birthday earlier this week. With factories in both Cardiff and Llanelli ~ its FireDragon biofuel is produced at the latter ~ BCB International Ltd not only manufactures a wide range of products for the defence and maritime sectors, but it also assembles a vast selection of military survival and humanitarian assistance pouches and packs for distribution around the globe as well as producing its own BCB Adventure range of popular bushcraft accessories widely stocked by camping and outdoor recreation outlets. In addition to employing four Ukrainian staff, BCB International have also strengthened their UK Defence team with five new staff members, including a chemist and an engineer.
