Zippo, a company famous for almost 90 years for producing classic lighters, these days also makes stainless steel hip flasks and many other accessories, writes Mike Gormley.

There is nothing at all new about the classic hip flask. However, to have a nice shiny stainless steel one such as this version from the renowned name of Zippo, better known for their legendary lighters, is a bit special.
Ideal for those cold nights out on the hill camping or just for whenever you would like to be able to take a ‘wee dram’ somewhere away with you, when it is really not practical to carry a glass bottle or such a beverage in a plastic container. I spent a lot of time in the past working out on the hills in winter and a colleague of mine always carried a flask like this with a 50/50 mix of Malt Whisky and Glayva. A perfect warmer on a cold day. Slàinte!, or slan-gey! if you come from south of the border.
