US SOF Rapid Deployment Of HIMARS To Riga

A US Special Operations Forces Europe MC-130J Commando II landed today in Riga to demonstrate the the rapid delivery and deployment of HIMARS.

News Release, Riga, 25 October 2021: On October 25, a landing exercise of the US Special Operations Forces Europe MC-130J Commando II took place at Spilve Airport in Riga, demonstrating the rapid delivery and deployment of the High Mobility Rocket Artillery System (HIMARS).

The aim of the exercise was to demonstrate the collective defence capabilities and the ability of the Allies to quickly deliver fire support capabilities to Latvia, providing support to the National Armed Forces in national defence. During the exercise, the co-operation of the armed forces and Latvia’s ability to provide support from the host country were tested.
