The SwivelSip Drink Flask from Super Sparrow is very practical on-the-go drinks flask with great 750ml capacity, writes Mike Gormley.

This offering from Super Sparrow – and no, I have no idea where this name comes from* but it is kind of endearing – is the 750ml or 25oz variant from a wide range; there is a 500, this 750, a 1000 and, if you really get a thirst on, a 1200ml. As well as a good range of capacities there are no less than 17 colours you can chose from so good luck if you are buying one of these as a present for someone else.
The one I have is Red (Santa Red as it’s almost Christmas) but for those that prefer to go more incognito there is Black; and if you like shiny, there is one of those as well. So, something for everyone here.
I find it is good to have a larger capacity version as if out, or just having a good workout at the gym, there is plenty of capacity to slake your thirst without having to go and get a top up. The slim and cylindrical design makes this flask easy to carry and, importantly, stow in a pouch or rucksack side pocket and is of a size to offer decent stability even for the larger sizes. The overall shape gives the flask a wide mouth, so it is easy to refill and to add ice cubes or pour in your favourite flavouring or rehydration additive.
As with others from this family, the SwivelSip Wide Mouth flask is made from food grade stainless steel so is very robust and dishwasher safe when it comes time to do a deep clean. This said, it is a very easy to clean flask when out and travelling.
The flask is double walled for insulation so will keep things warm ~ stated as being for 12 hours by the maker ~ or cold and will prevent your water from freezing if outdoors in the real cold. The top has a very easy to use flexible folding soft feel carrying loop / handle, so folds away to enable easy stowage but works very well as a carry handle. All this said, this flask is not a heavy lump to carry, an attribute of Super Sparrow, and we tend to take with us if away travelling… as we did recently.
To drink from this flask is simple. The drinking spout is a flip-up one and this can be done with one hand. As the spout opens it also opens the tiny and hidden away air vent, which reseals on closure to make it all leak-proof. Drinking from this flask has two options: tip the flask and make use of gravity or, with the internal tube fitted, you can sip up the drink from any angle; a spare tube is also provided.
This is a very handy drinks flask from Super Sparrow and will suit many, if not most, requirements for a drink bottle.
