The Panorama Pile Fleece Block Jacket is Helly Hansen’s ‘go to’ fleece top or mid layer for those chilly days out, writes Mike Gormley.

This is one of those ‘go to’ fleece jackets when the weather turns a bit chilly. It’s one to grab if you are off down to the pub or out for a walk on the hills or coast, as I was just a couple of days ago.
I took this fleece with me as a back-up when we went out exploring a North Somerset beach looking for fossils and then walking on the high exposed cliffs of North Devon when the chill breeze really got up. The Panorama was ideal and kept the chilly wind out and me nicely cosy.

It is designed with a good range of practical pockets; very handy hand-warmer side pockets as well as a phone-sized chest pocket. Inside it also has two map-sized pouch pockets, not quite ‘poacher’ pockets but very handy.

The Panorama has that immediate cosy feel very soon after putting it on, which is just what is needed. That ‘feel’ is extended as the collar is zipped up to the neck. The front zip has a storm flap to help keep the breeze out. The cuffs have some elasticity, so help to keep the warmth inside.

This really is one of those no-frills kind of jackets that you know you will use often when the conditions dictate or you need to have something with you, close by or in the rucksack, for when it is time to add a warm layer. The Panorama is partly made from recycled fabrics. There is a range of colours to choose from; this one is 876 Concrete.
This is certainly a fleece jacket well-suited to most outdoor activities or even just for when it’s a bit chilly around home or workplace.
