BSDA 2026 Opens Wednesday in Bucharest

BSDA 2026 opens Wednesday in Bucharest ~ the largest edition in the event’s history brings together official delegations from four continents.

Press Release, Bucharest, 11 May 2026: Only two days remain until the official opening of Black Sea Defense and Aerospace – BSDA 2026, the leading regional event dedicated to the defence and security industry. The 10th edition, marking 20 years since the launch of the event, begins on Wednesday, May 13, at the ROMAERO Băneasa platform and will be held this year under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.

The opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 and will take place in the presence of Romania’s highest-ranking authorities and an international participation unprecedented in the history of the event. Invited to deliver opening remarks are the President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Minister of National Defence Radu Miruță, Minister of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Irineu Darău, Chair of the Senate Committee for Defence, Public Order and National Security Nicoleta Pauliuc, General Gheorghiță Vlad, Chief of Defence, and His Excellency Darryl Nirenberg, Ambassador of the United States of America to Bucharest.

This week, high-level official delegations from the Black Sea region, NATO allied and partner states from Europe, North America, Asia and Africa are arriving in Bucharest. The official program includes visits by military delegations from more than 30 countries, led by chiefs of defence and service commanders, alongside broad diplomatic representation through officials from allied embassies accredited in Bucharest.

The 10th edition of BSDA brings together more than 650 exhibiting companies from 36 countries, 7 national pavilions, more than 350 Romanian and foreign officials, and over 30,000 visitors expected throughout the three-day event. The United States once again has the largest national representation, followed by Germany, South Korea, Turkey and France.

The first two days of the event, Wednesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14, are dedicated exclusively to official, military and business visitors. On Friday, May 15, access to the outdoor exhibition area will also be open to the general public. Representatives of Romanian companies and local authorities can register free of charge on the event’s official website, bsda.ro.

Black Sea Defense and Aerospace – BSDA is organised by TNT Productions Romania, in partnership with the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – ANCEX, the Ministry of Justice – ANP, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service, the National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bucharest.
