Russian Baltic Fleet Air Exercise ~ Kaliningrad Region

Naval aircraft of Russia’s Baltic Fleet have started training within a scheduled flight exercise in the Kaliningrad region.

 

Press Release, 10th September: The drills involve over 20 crews of Su-27, Su-24, Su-30SM, attack and military transport helicopters (Mi-24 and Mi-8), Ka-27 shipborne helicopters and An-26 military transport airplanes.

 

During the training sorties, personnel perform episodes to train fire support of ground troops, engagement of command posts, armoured hardware, manpower, air targets, to detect and eliminate surface ships and submarines.

 

Flight and engineering personnel and CSS and signal specialists are also involved in the drills. The goal of the event is to improve professional skills of pilots.
