Press Release, Versailles, 07 April 2025: The 7th edition of SOFINS, a biennial trade show dedicated to the armed forces’ Special Forces, organised by the Cercle de l’Arbalète for the benefit of the Special Operations Command (COS) and which brought together representatives of Special Forces from some sixty countries in a secure location from April 1 to 3, 2025, has just concluded.

For three days, VSEs, SMEs, and large industrial groups gathered under the auspices of the Cercle de l’Arbalète to propose solutions adapted to the needs of special operations. As part of its innovation hub: SOFLAB 2025 & SOFTECH SI, a space dedicated to emerging companies and their cutting-edge technologies, facilitating meetings between designers and specifiers to anticipate the needs of tomorrow’s armed forces, two young and innovative French companies have successfully attracted Special Forces decision-makers.

Terramind FX, developed by Tyndall FX, combines embedded artificial intelligence and real-time 3D mapping to provide an instant tactical view of the terrain. Using drone images, the solution generates interactive 3D maps directly on the ground, without a cloud connection. Its embedded AI automatically detects and identifies people, vehicles, and infrastructure, while enabling precise measurements of areas, volumes, and distances. By combining intelligent analysis and 3D modeling, Terramind FX facilitates rapid understanding of the operational environment. It is a key tool for reconnaissance and decision-making in real-time.

Owley develops and sells a tactical network, an autonomous communications bubble that connects combatants discreetly and resiliently. We also offer a GPS-free geolocation and rescue solution, enabling operators to be located in any environment, indoors or outdoors, even when GPS is jammed. The systems developed by Owley are designed for high-intensity combat, where wave jammers and radio transmission detection represent a constant threat to soldiers deployed in the field.

As Lionel Bouchard, CEO of Tyndall FX, recalls, “SOFINS was a highlight for Tyndall FX, marked by real enthusiasm for our solution and exciting prospects with key players in the sector. Receiving the SOFINS 2025 Innovation Award is a source of immense pride for us. It is recognition of the work accomplished, but also an encouragement to continue innovating to serve operational forces. This award symbolises our commitment to developing sovereign, robust technologies directly adapted to the needs of the field.”

For Stéphane Rousseau, Founder and Director of Owley, “SOFINS marked a decisive step for Owley. The high-quality discussions with Special Forces, manufacturers, and defense institutions allowed us to better understand their concrete needs and design solutions truly adapted to the most demanding operational realities. This confirmed the soundness of our approach, based on pragmatism and robustness. We are honored to have been able to participate in this event and to have won the 2025 Innovation Award, which represents tremendous encouragement to continue meeting the challenges of tomorrow’s military.”
