Press Release, Ankara, 17 March 2025: Under the coordination of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), one of the significant milestones of the SahilNET Project—signed between the Turkish Coast Guard Command and HAVELSAN at IDEF on September 15, 2021—has been successfully completed.

HAVELSAN held an opening ceremony for the Data Center, which was designed with national resources for the Turkish Coast Guard Command. Within the scope of the SahilNET Project, it is aimed to establish similar data centre / server room infrastructures in the provincial units of the Coast Guard Command outside of the Headquarters, leveraging the experience gained from the current project.

During his remarks, Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir, Commander of the Turkish Coast Guard, underscored the significance of this development: “The Turkish Coast Guard Command has experienced substantial growth in recent years, giving rise to new technological requirements. The Headquarters Data Center is a vital component in addressing these emerging needs and further enhancing the operational effectiveness of our Command.”

Mustafa Murat Şeker, Deputy President of the Presidency of Defence Industries, commented: “As the Presidency of Defence Industries, we remain committed to supporting the technological advancements of the Turkish Coast Guard Command. We are pleased with the successful completion of this initial phase of the SahilNET Project, which represents a key investment in national security infrastructure.”

HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar stated: “As HAVELSAN, we are dedicated to delivering advanced technological solutions to the Turkish Coast Guard Command. Through the SahilNET Project, we aim to establish a holistic and integrated data management model, contributing to the Command’s digital transformation.”

In addition to data centres, many locally developed software products will be used in the SahilNET project. HAVELSAN’s document and records management system EVRAKA, next-generation enterprise resource planning system KOVAN, account management system LİMAN, geographic information system KÂŞİF, business intelligence software DATA PLATO, data diode product DATAFLOWX, and KAREL VOIP switchboard will be among the domestic products utilised within the scope of the project.

The SahilNET project is expected to involve the development of 35 software modules, requiring the writing of 2.5 million lines of code. The project will also include the establishment of a dedicated network and the creation of a large-scale infrastructure consisting of hardware, software, and data centres.
