On Wednesday (29th) during WINTER DEPLOYMENT 25 the UK Commando Force mounted a capability display and demonstrated the new KS-1 rifle.

Media Release, Whitehall, 29 January 2025: The UK Commando Force welcomed Senior Officers and distinguished visitors to Camp Viking, Norway for a capability display and Arctic operating experience. Guests were given an insight into how the UK Commando Force operates in the Arctic Circle with an overview of kit and equipment used and demonstrations.

The capability reinforced already strong ties with the UK’s allies and partners and provided a valuable insight to the future of the UK Commando Force prioritising its focus to the High North. The UK Commando Force is reaffirming its commitment to the High North by deploying to the Arctic Circle for WINTER DEPLOYMENT 25. Over 2000 service personnel consisting of Royal Marines, 24 Commando Royal Engineers, 29 Commando Royal Artillery, Commando Helicopter Force and various other supporting units have been deployed to Northern Norway to hone their skills in Arctic conditions.
