Babcock has signed an MoU with Supacat to collaborate on its proposed replacement for the British Army Land Rover as part of the UK LMV competition.

Press Release, Walsall, 22 July 2026: Babcock International Group (Babcock), the defence company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with British defence SME Supacat, to collaborate on its proposed replacement for the outgoing British Army Land Rover as part of the Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) competition.
The MoU builds on the strong relationship between two iconic names in British defence following the completion of the Jackal 3 programme earlier this month. Both parties will draw on their experience from the successful programme to design and deliver a sovereign capability which is underpinned by a ‘Best of British’ supply chain for the British Army.
Babcock has developed the General Logistics Vehicle (GLV) family for the LMV programme, using the proven Toyota Land Cruiser LC70 as its platform. The range includes practical and formidable Medium Wheelbase, Long Wheelbase and Utility variants. The MoU enables Babcock and Supacat to explore how their complementary skills can enhance the offering – and supports Babcock’s increased commitment to working with SMEs as part of its SME Engagement Charter.
