Media Release, Whitehall, 23 June 2025: The UK Carrier Strike Group (CSG) has arrived in Singapore, marking the next phase of its Indo-Pacific deployment.
The deployment, known as Operation HIGHMAST, includes ships from Canada, Norway and Spain. The task group, which left the UK in April, previously completed exercises in the Mediterranean. This visit to Singapore demonstrates the UK’s enduring commitment to regional security and our strategic partnerships across the Indo-Pacific. As the CSG sails alongside allies and partners, it strengthens cooperation, supports peace, and promotes free and open navigation in one of the world’s most dynamic regions. With HMS Prince of Wales at its heart, the Strike Group also represents the very best of British industry, innovation and global ambition, showcasing our world-class defence capabilities on an international stage.
During it’s time in Singapore, the Carrier Strike Group will engage in a range of activities, including joint training, senior leadership engagement, and outreach that reinforces our share values and close military ties with regional partners. Over the next few months, the Strike Group with two F-35B squadrons embarked, will join British Army and Royal Air Force units to participate in Exercise TALISMAN SABRE 2025, the Australian-led multinational exercise involving US and many other regional partners. This major exercise builds towards full operational capability of the UK’s carrier strike capability.
