In response to a suggestion from one of our Sponsors, last week we launched a Joint-Forces Monthly ‘Top Ten’ Newsletter on LinkedIn.
~
From the day we first started the Joint-Forces.com website we uploaded links to almost all of our page posts onto Facebook and Twitter (now X) and a little later, in response to requests from defence industry manufacturer and supplier friends, we also added LinkedIn. These three accounts appear to attract quite different followings and when we post on them we pretty much instantly see spikes in our web page views so, even although we seldom make personal posts on social media, we understand the value of regularly adding fresh content to the trio.
On Sunday evenings, at around 18:00 UK time, we circulate a Weekly Update email listing all pages published on JOINT-FORCES over the previous week. Intended for quick informational reading first thing on a Monday morning, no matter where you are in the world, this intentionally simple list provides clickable headlines with a standfirst paragraph underneath. [To sign up for this Weekly Update go to the Home Page of JOINT-FORCES.com and scroll to the bottom then add an email address. Your email address will NOT be shared with third parties.]
As mentioned above, one of our Sponsors (whose social media managers Follow us on LinkedIn) asked which were the most popular pages on Joint-Forces.com and when we told them they suggested that not only others in their company but also the defence industry in general might be interested in seeing a ‘Top Ten’ of our recent page posts. They also suggested we avail ourselves of the Newsletter facility on LinkedIn to inform interested readers. We were initially unconvinced that there would be much interest in this, but in just five days over 400 members Subscribed through LinkedIn for the Joint-Forces Monthly Top Ten so we are going to run with it and publish a list of the previous month’s most popular posts at the start of the following month ~ subject to operational limitations, such as the Editor gallivanting off on assignment at the time.
Please bear in mind that this ranking is merely a snapshot taken at the very end of the month and popular pages uploaded towards the end of the period won’t necessarily have achieved their full viewing potential. Also we have now published close to 8,000 pages on JOINT-FORCES since March 2018 and nearly every one of them is still viewable, so don’t be surprised if a ‘hot’ topic published some time ago resurfaces &/or goes viral leading to it racking up a large number of fresh views during the course of the preceding month.
Note: A very high proportion of our readership engages ‘Do Not Track’ on their browser and we fully understand this decision as we’re not too keen on big multinationals selling data based on our personal internet browsing. Because we do our very best to respect our readers’ PerSec (Personal Security) and Privacy we do not employ intrusive tracking or analytics cookies on the website and we comply with UK data protection laws. Our ‘Top Ten’ is based on non-intrusive Matomo statistics so we don’t know either who viewed these pages or what their IP Address was.
