Keela Men’s RADS Pro Zip Top

While sightseeing in the Sahara I wore Keela's RADS Pro Zip Top for several days without washing it as there were no facilities ~ it still remained wearable and I did not find I was losing friends! [© Jean Gormley]

The Men’s RADS (Rapid Active Dispersal System) Pro Zip Top is a special Keela base layer intended for multi-day use, writes Mike Gormley.

This RADS zipped top is basically a simple base layer… but not that simple. Keela has designed this to be a multi-wear garment by using their Stayfresh technology, so it is ideal for the traveller. Hence, I took it with me on my recent trip to Morocco. This turned out a good choice as we were moving a lot with no opportunity to wash things plus we had some very mixed weather, from warm sun to really chill evenings and cold nights.

A very pleasant to wear base layer which is really a zipped high neck T-shirt, it has a very nice feel and works well as a standalone garment on warm days but is also good as a base when it gets colder, as it did every day for us during our early February trip. The quarter zip is useful allowing a bit more ventilation when warm and it zips right up to close the collar if required.

One of the real benefits for the traveller is this next-to-skin layer will be wearable for multiple days even if it gets warm and a bit sweaty. Polygiene Stayfresh has been developed to not only provide garments that are truly multi-use and multi-wear, but also of course with less washing required they have a lower impact on the use of water and detergent and soap so a double win.

After arriving in the desert in late afternoon we went straight out to walk up the dunes around Erg Chebbi as the temperature moved from warm to quite chilly and the RADS was comfortable throughout [©JG]

A simple but very useable garment that incorporates Keela’s RADS (Rapid Active Dispersal System) to help keep body moisture moving away from the skin. It is available in eight sizes, from 2XS through to 3XL.
