The Keela Saxon is a lightweight high visibility jacket suitable for many active sports or just as a lightweight carry offering protection, writes Mike Gormley.

For those times when you are active but need something to offer some protection against the elements, the Keela Saxon Jacket does the job well. It will protect against the odd showers and a cool breeze; actually the Flylite Aqua material is remarkably windproof and waterproof, and provides a significant amount warmth both during and after exercise.
I have been wearing this through the later summer months and now as we get into autumn, and it has proved to be invaluable. The great thing is it is super lightweight at only 260 grammes and it will pack away in very little space so is very easy to take with you, even in a pocket. I have mostly worn this jacket when out boating and kayaking and it has been ideal.
This jacket has also been perfect when out biking and in every case, it provided me with a very high level of visibility; mine being the Lime version of the various colours on offer. Especially for cyclists and runners, it is in my mind essential. There are also reflective elements to make it more visible as the light fades.
The Saxon comes with a hood, sized to fit over a helmet but adjustable to accommodate all situations. It has useful sized zipped side pockets and a ‘bum pocket’ as favoured by those on two wheels. The back is a scooped, or scalloped, design to keep the lower back protected while active. Thumb loops and hook and loop adjusters keep the cuffs in order when your arms are busy.
Available in seven sizes, in both Mens and Ladies fit, this is an all-round very handy jacket for the active amongst us and also for lightweight travels, commuting and so on.
