Press Release, Strasbourg, 22 January 2026: [auto-translated] Following a competitive bidding process launched in spring 2025 by the DGA, Soframe’s offer was selected to supply the French Army with Heavy Recovery Vehicles (ELD – Engins Lourds de Dépannage).
The corresponding framework contract has been awarded to Soframe and provides for an initial delivery of 20 units in 2027, including five before the end of the first half of the year. These Heavy Recovery Vehicles are highly anticipated by the French Army and will contribute to its objective of equipping the Combat Division by 2027. The framework contract allows for an optional order of 80 additional units to significantly increase the current inventory.
These ELDs are very similar to the Protected Recovery Vehicles (PRVs) delivered by Soframe to the Belgian Army, which will further strengthen cooperation between the Belgian and French armed forces. On the industrial level, as with the PRVs, the collaboration is European, as Soframe is once again relying on its major partners: Jigé International, FN, and Daimler Trucks.
Soframe, a subsidiary of the Lohr Group and a member of the European Defence Industrial and Technological Base, is proud to contribute to meeting this urgent need of the French Army.
