Press Release, Bromborough, 09 December 2025: Marine Specialised Technology [MST] was pleased to welcome representatives from the German F126 frigate programme for a first inspection and tests of the Fast Raiding Interception and Special Forces Craft (FRISC), which will be incorporated into the new F126 frigates.

The visit marked the delegation’s first opportunity to view the FRISC in operation and assess its performance during live trials. Over the course of the demonstration, the craft achieved speeds in excess of 50 knots. The FRISC has a capacity of 12 persons and is equipped with twin waterjet propulsion, four weapon stations and an advanced communication suite.

Mild sea conditions on the River Mersey provided an excellent environment to showcase the FRISC’s , acceleration, and stability at speed. The tests concluded satisfactory, with the German team gaining first-hand insight into the craft’s capabilities and operational flexibility. The visit also enabled constructive dialogue between the delegation and Marine Specialised Technology’s engineering and production teams. Feedback gathered during the session will support ongoing refinement ahead of further platform trials scheduled to commence early next year.

Benjamin Kerfoot, MST Group Managing Director said “This visit has been a milestone moment for us. Demonstrating the craft performance today is a proud achievement for the team involved and the customers positive reaction made the long development journey truly worthwhile.”

Damen Naval expresses that it appreciates MST for their relentless drive in developing this next generation FRISC for the F126 project. The successful launch of the boats and the smooth execution of initial testing underscore the meticulous preparation carried out by MST and Damen Naval. These achievements provide strong assurance that the vessels can soon enter service with the Bundeswehr. The project further highlights the enduring partnership between MST and Damen Naval, built on years of close collaboration in numerous projects.

Marine Specialised Technology looks forward to continued collaboration with all involved parties as the FRISC progresses toward full integration within the F126 frigate project.
