Press Release, Seoul, 20 August 2025: Hanwha has presented a portfolio of advanced defence solutions specifically tailored for the heightened security demands of Northern Europe at the DALO Industry Days, Scandinavia’s largest defence exhibition, from August 20-21.
This participation underscores Hanwha’s strategic focus on providing customised, already in operational service with key European allies. Hanwha Aerospace will present the K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) and the Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher System (MRLS).
The K9 is a world-leading 155mm SPH that has proven its performance and reliability in the demanding climates of Northern Europe through its successful deployments in Norway and Finland. Fully interoperable with NATO’s command and control systems, the K9 combines a 155mm/52-calibre gun with ‘shoot-and-scoot’ mobility, a critical capability for enhancing survivability in the regional terrain.
Alongside the K9, Hanwha will feature the Chunmoo MRLS, a versatile and powerful artillery system validated through its adoption by Poland, a key NATO ally. The Chunmoo’s seamless integration into the NATO operational framework and its ability to fire various calibres of guided missiles make it a flexible and precise solution for engaging a wide range of targets.
“Our presence at DALO is driven by a commitment to address the specific defence needs of Northern Europe.” said a Hanwha official. “We are here to showcase how our systems are not just NATO-compatible, but already proven to perform in this region’s demanding environment. Our goal is to deliver tailored, comprehensive solutions built on a foundation of local industrial partnership and technology transfer, ensuring we grow together with our regional partners.”
