GROM Missiles Delivered to Lithuanian Armed Forces

Stocks of Polish GROM (THUNDER) MANPADS missiles worth 28 million Euros have been resupplied to the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

Press Release, Lithuania, 03 July 2025: Lithuania continues living up to its firm commitment to a continued modernisation of the Armed Forces with a special focus on air defence. The stocks of GROM missiles have just been resupplied in the Lithuanian warehouses with EUR 28 million worth of Poland’s MESKO S.A. production contracted for in 2023.

GROM is a man-portable air defence missile system manufacture by Poland. It locks in on visible-spectrum and infrared-spectrum air targets: aircraft, helicopters, fighter jets or unmanned aerial vehicles.

Equipped with heat-sensitive warheads, GROM missiles locks in on the target before the launch and is capable of neutralising it at 3.5 km altitude, 5.5 km away. The system is operated from standing or kneeling positions, from entrenchments, ship deck or slow-moving vehicles. GROM is unique in its mobility and effectiveness in infantry force or site protection against air attacks.
