The Al-Kaser variant of the Al-Wahsh 4×4 Armoured Fighting Vehicle from JODDB (formerly KADDB) has been designed to provide maximum protection for military convoys and troops operating in hostile areas by integrating high-tech ground surveillance radar with a maximum range of up to 40km into a STANAG 4569 KE L3/A level proven and in-service platform. The camera fitted at IDEX allowed tank-sized targets to be detected out to 16,000m and recognised at 9,000m plus man-size targets to be detected out to 10,000m and recognised at 4,000m.

Intended primarily for Jordan’s Special Operations Forces and Quick Response Forces, Al-Kaser applications also include exploration and reconnaissance operations as well as peace-keeping and peace-enforcing ops. In addition to its mast-mounted stabilised long range day and thermal camera system, Al-Kaser also incorporates an RCIED system to provide RF jamming across all channels plus a gunshot detection system.

According to JODDB the four-crew vehicle, which is armed with a stabilised 12.7mm Remote Weapon Station operated by the front right-seater, “offers effective firepower, supports specific engagement operations, and performs multiple and varied missions. It is characterised by its high tactical and combat capabilities in difficult and rugged terrain.”

Powered by a 370hp diesel engine giving a top road speed of 110km/hr, Al-Kaser measures 5800×2200, 4330mm (excluding masts) and has a gross vehicle weight of 18,000kg.
