BIRD Aerosystems Order for AMPS Featuring SPREOS DIRCM

BIRD Aerosystems secures order for AMPS featuring SPREOS DIRCM to be installed on VIP Dassault Falcon 7X and Airbus A319 aircraft.

Press Release, Herzliya, 03 January 2025: BIRD Aerosystems, a global leader in defence technology, proudly announces a follow-on order for its AeroShield missile protection system, which includes the SPREOS (Self Protection Radar Electro-Optic System) DIRCM.

The order, placed by a long-standing NATO client, includes the supply of systems to protect the VIP Dassault Falcon 7X and Airbus A319 aircraft. Delivery is expected in 2025 and also includes system maintenance services.

The SPREOS [is] a patented DIRCM system for missile approach that detects, tracks, confirms and protects from missile threats. It ensures precise protection against MANPADS threats and seamlessly integrates with diverse missile warning systems.

BIRD’s versatile AMPS solution provides complete protection against ground-to-air threats, including MANPADS attacks, for helicopters and VVIP aircraft for Heads of State. With a compact and lightweight design housed within the dedicated AeroShield POD, the system is certified on the Falcon 7X and Airbus A319 and it is easy to install and requires minimal aircraft modifications. Its innovative low-footprint design allows seamless integration, which enables the system to be easily transferred between aircraft for optimal fleet management.
