Babcock, ST Engineering and Supacat firepower demonstration of 120mm GDAMS (Ground Deployed Advanced Mortar System).

Babcock Social Media Release, 17 December 2024: At Babcock we’re always looking to develop new capabilities for our customers. Last month, we travelled with our partners ST Engineering and Supacat to the Northern Cape of South Africa for a Fire Power Demonstration of our 120mm Ground Deployed Advanced Mortar System (GDAMS) mounted on a JACKAL, High Mobility Transporter (HMT).
The demonstration to potential UK customers included conventional, smoke and precision munitions; achieving a three-round grouping of 1.1 metres when fired over 5.5 kilometres.
Capable of drop-fire or lanyard-pull; the advanced fire control and targeting system delivers fast, accurate adjustments, reducing the chances of human error whilst the patented blast diffuser reduces noise exposure to the two-person crew, allowing them to focus on speed of operation.
