Media Release, Rolling Meadows IL, 31 October 2024: Northrop Grumman Corporation’s LITENING targeting pod has completed initial flight testing on the US Navy F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet aircraft, a critical step on the path to fleet operations.
The tests put the electro-optical / infrared pod through a set of demanding manoeuvres representative of operational scenarios. LITENING’s daylight and infrared sensors provide high-definition video in multiple wavelengths to deliver a decisive advantage in surveillance and targeting missions.
