Press Release, Mühldorf am Inn, 18 April 2023: The ODU Group, a leading international supplier of connector systems, is launching a new connector – the ODU AMC NP.

The ODU AMC connectors are among the high-performance, quick-disconnect miniature connectors on the market. They are recognised and sought after worldwide. Designed and manufactured to meet military standards, this cost-effective connector is ideal for military and security applications. It improves communication performance for soldiers in the field and is tested to MIL-STD-810H and applicable technical requirements. It includes power contacts and is suitable for USB 2.0 transmission. The ODU AMC NP can withstand at least 2,000 mating cycles, is waterproof to a depth of 20m and meets IP68 protection rating. There are options for solder, crimp or PCB connections, easy handling, a robust break-away design and integrated solutions for cable mounting.

The ODU AMC NP is ideal for tactical battery packs, PDU (Power Distribution Units), CWB (Conformable Wearable Batteries) and C4ISR peripherals for the transmission of USB 2.0 signals and power. It is compatible with open architecture standards such as NATO STANAG 4695, Nett Warrior and GOSSRA (General Open Structure Architecture).

With the launch of ODU AMC NP, ODU expands its successful soldier communications portfolio and its ability to support military and security customers with custom hybrid solutions and numerous value-added services, such as custom technical support, rapid prototyping for custom connectors and integrated cable assembly. This gives a significant competitive advantage to equipment manufacturers who want a highly reliable and readily available connectivity solution.

“ODU AMC NP is cost-effective, secure and energy-efficient, making it suitable for ensuring the continued modernisation of the networked soldier,” said Craig Kammerman, Business Development Manager Military at ODU-USA.
