Press Release, Helsinki, 26 May 2026: Norway has proceeded in the Patria-led Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme by signing the Framework Agreement as the next stage of preparation for the serial procurement phase. This agreement enables Norway to next conduct the serial procurement of Patria’s CAVS 6×6 armoured vehicles.
Norway joined the CAVS programme in 2025, alongside the United Kingdom. Launched in 2020 through cooperation between Finland and Latvia, the CAVS programme aims to deliver a modern 6×6 armoured vehicle system based on Patria 6×6 vehicle that meets the operational needs of European and NATO nations. Patria is already delivering vehicles to the several other CAVS member nations including Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Denmark and Germany, with vehicles being also operational in Ukraine, and while with the UK the next phases are currently being negotiated.
“Norway’s signature of the CAVS Framework Agreement is another tangible step forward for multinational CAVS cooperation. The framework enables member nations to move fast, buy smart and sustain locally, delivering a consistent, interoperable protected mobility capability while strengthening security of supply through shared industrial cooperation,” says Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Patria’s Protected Mobility business area.
Through the CAVS programme, participating nations can acquire modern armoured vehicles in a timely and cost-effective manner. The programme’s common approach enables shared procurement, coordinated product development and efficient life-cycle management. The CAVS programme remains open to European and NATO nations with comparable 6×6 armoured vehicle requirements.
